Shelia Ellison first started riding when she was four years old, and by the age of six had begun her show career. Her career in the show ring has included a wide diversity of disciplines, ranging from early experiences with three and five-gaited saddlebreds, to reining horses, reined cow horses, halter horses, hunters, dressage and event horses. Shelia has won numerous awards including titles as Rider of the Year and campaigning My Lou Ann’s Angel to Horse of the Year title. Shelia has gained additional satisfaction from the fact that many of her accomplishments have been earned on homebred horses. Shelia is now Level Two Instructor with American Riding Instructors Association in Eventing and Recreational Riding. Shelia has also taken her students to numerous year-end, high-point, and other awards. Her high standards insure that she instills in her students a high regard for safety, preparedness, and good horsemanship. She currently teaches and trains at her family’s Black Creek Stables in Gadsden, Alabama. Shelia is riding Classical Dressage on Prima Rosa in Portugal.
